Richard is a real estate strategist, thought leader and innovator. He is a futurist and keynote speaker on the evolution of real estate and publishes a regular industry blog and podcast on these subjects. He is co-author of the recently published book, ‘Reworking the Workplace’.

 

Trained as a lawyer and a chartered surveyor, Richard’s career has focused on urban renewal, economics, regeneration, technology and corporate strategy, in which areas he has advised leading developers, investors and the public sector.

 

Richard holds the role of Head of Innovation for Cushman & Wakefield in EMEA, where he drives business transformation to align with emerging industry value models.

Sally Bruer

Sally specialises in EMEA Research & Insight, focussing on logistics and industrial commercial property research. Sally has extensive experience in research and analysis of logistics and industrial property market dynamics and performance indicators, as well as broader socio-economic and sectoral drivers. Sally has worked with many different types of clients, including investors, developers and customers.

Prior to joining C&W, Sally was Head of Research at Tritax Management, managing funds including Tritax Big Box REIT plc, Tritax Eurobox plc and Tritax Property Income Fund. Whilst at Tritax, Sally was responsible for analysis of logistics property market and economic/sectoral data and trends and assisting with implementing fund management investment strategy.

Eric van Leuven is Executive Partner and the Head of Portugal of Cushman & Wakefield.

In addition to leading a team of more than 125 professionals in consultancy and real estate brokerage, he personally advises mostly clients on shopping centre development and commercial property investment.

Eric is a Dutch national but has lived and worked in Portugal since 1982. In 1987, he set up George Knight Estate Agents in Lisbon. In 1991, Cushman & Wakefield (then Healey & Baker) acquired the commercial property division of George Knight and Eric became C&W’s Head of Portugal.

As a member of C&W’s EMEA Board he chaired the local boards of the firm’s offices in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Greece.

He is currently member of the firm’s European Leadership Team.

Paulo Sarmento is an International Partner at Cushman & Wakefield. He heads all the transactional areas (Capital Markets, Office Agency, Retail Agency and Industrial & Logistics Agency) of the Portuguese firm. 

With more than 26 years experience in international real estate development, investment, leasing and asset management, Paulo has acquired significant expertise in multiple geographies and asset classes: offices, retail, industrial & logistics, hospitality, living and operational real estate.  

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2018, Paulo was based in London and served as Principal at Meyer Bergman, focusing on acquisitions and asset management in Southern Europe. Before, he worked at Multi Development as Managing Director for Italy and Brazil, and as Commercial Director for Southern Europe, and at Sonae Sierra as Leasing & Marketing Manager.

🌯 Founded in 2001, CRESCER intervenes with excluded and vulnerable groups through the creation and implementation of community projects with multidisciplinary teams. It promotes risk reduction and damage minimization, health and works to improve the quality of life of the people it supports, foreseeing their societal inclusion. Currently, it is developing 14 projects – 9 community intervention projects, including technical street teams, Housing First and projects to welcome and promote the inclusion of refugee and migrants. It also has 5 social businesses (restaurants and catering services), which aim to train and promote the inclusion in the labor market of people who were homeless.
